100 X Missions Purpose

I. Loving Our Neighbor

On the last Wednesday that Jesus was on this earth in his earthly ministry, during his last public sermon to the people, and the last confrontation of the Pharisees to discredit our Lord—Jesus tells them and us to LOVE our NEIGHBOR as we love ourselves.

II. Humanitarian Aid

  • Providing food to the hungry.
  • Providing drink to the thirsty
  • Providing shelter to the needy.
  • Providing health to the sick.
  • We will all give an account for these things.

III. Caring for Orphans and Widows

  • James made it clear that visiting the fatherless and the widows in their affliction is pure and spotless religion.
  • 100X aims to be a testament of the fulfilling of this passage

IV. Equipping

  • Providing and training our brothers, so they can make it on their own through the power of Christ.
  • To educate and teach about our Savior, so they can “GO” and teach the good news to their people.

Other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop –a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.  Matt 13:8

We are currently revamping the site and should have all mission zones updated by the end of February. Please sign up for the 100X Missions newsletter using the box to the right.

The trip was amazing - even with a 41 hour detour!!

The Lord is doing BIG things in India.

Our team (Wes Gunn, Brandon Phillips, and myself), conducted graduation ceremonies in the Mandi and Kerala. We did some pastoral leadership training. And surveyed all the current construction.

New Home 2Gary and Nancy Gardner were in town recently and provided an update on the City of Angles.

The work crew that went down did a tremendous job. Brian Anderson shared the way the team worked together to help construct some of the houses for the new campus.

New Home (Click to see a larger version of the new home for the Angels,)

Gary shared the progress and was hopeful that the first 3 homes would be completed in time for the Angels to move in later this year.

You are a big part of this work!

100X committed $85K and only $25k remains on the original commitment. Because of your generosity these young lives are being touched with the love of Jesus.

Thank you for your support!

Turkey Update

Turkey No Comments »

The work in Turkey is overseen by Landmark Church. While 100X is not diectly inovlved in the work yet, we may help in the future. Please keep Andrew and Katie in prayer. They are a great couple and hard workers for the kingdom!

Peace,

Paul

Dear Family,

Things are going well here in AYT. We’ve been busy with language school and spending a lot of time with language partners and new Turkish friends. I posted a picture with my last blog of me and Haluk a new friend and at present a great language partner (just click here) He’s studying at the big University. He’s about to finish a degree in food engineering (which would prepare him for a life of restaurant and hotel kitchen inspections). Language is coming relatively quickly, and we’re getting lots of opportunities to use our new grammar and words each day. This Wednesday Katie and I have volunteered to practice conversational English with Turks and are happy for another venue to meet new people and share with them the good news.  we had a great study with a new Turkish friend on Sunday and are hoping to have a follow up study with him and his Russian wife at our regular Sunday evening meeting.

The weather is slowly getting better and the crowd of Turks on the street seems to grow exponentially with the weather. It’s hard to believe we have been here three months coming up in March. Please pray for us as we prepare to exit and reenter the country. It turns out it is less expensive to do that then to get a residence permit at this point in time. It turns out that we can exit and return in one day and we can buy bacon at the port of the tiny Greek island just three hours from here. We’ll send pictures of our trip with our next report from the Turkland.

Our deepest love and thanks for your prayers and concern for this ministry to Turks.

Imitate Me

Devotionals No Comments »

I Cor. 4:16

“I urge you. Imitate me.”

Paul was setting an example he felt should be followed.

He was bold about it.

Can we be so direct?

What in your life are you willing to say, “Imitate me. You should learn from this example.”

In our society and times it might sound arrogant. But in the first century, it was how you learned. You became like your teacher. Jesus said in John 13 “every student becomes like the teacher.”

Let become more intentional about what and how we teach. Let’s set an example worth imitating.

India Testimony

Mercy Homes, India No Comments »

I am Narendra Bansal, so delighted to share my testimony that I knew nothing about Christ Jesus before my salvation.  I was an Idol worshiper of hundreds of Hindu gods and goddesses, but there was no real peace in my life. One of my brothers was affected by brain tumor.

At that time we were helpless crying and beating on chest, and seeking help from Hindu god. Eventually we took him to a Hindu priest. The priest made an Iron rod hot as the part of his magic and beat my brother. After three days of this event my brother died. From that day onwards I lost my faith upon any god and goddess and became an atheist. After some years one God’s servant who visited often my village came to my home and shared the good news of Christ Jesus the Savior of the world as one who died for him and me. However, I did not believe on his words. But when I was studying in 10th standard, one day I watched a Christian movie named Dayasagar on Jesus Christ.

At the time of watching the film the Spirit of God started to move in my heart convincing me that Jesus is the real Savior of the world. Then I began to cry in my heart and started to read the Bible. But one day I fell as sick for which the pastor who shared the gospel prayed for me and I was healed from the sickness. Then I realized that Jesus Christ is the living God one who died for my sin and resurrected.

Due to this realization I began to have the fellowship with the pastor and came to know that he is a real servant of God. Then I began to grow slowly in spirituality. Taking fast, attending prayer meetings and visiting home prayer sells became the part of my life. When I was studying +2, a great revival broke out in our local church. By that God was doing miracles and many Hindu people began to come for healing prayer and surrendered their life in to the hand of God. Then, being a member of an orthodox Hindu family I accepted Jesus Christ as the personal Savior in 25th June 2002.

Then I decided to study the word of God Systematically along with the Secular study. But, when my parents came to know that I become a Christian and am planing to go to study the word of God they chased me out from the house. I spent few days in pastor’s house meanwhile I received calling latter from mission India theological Seminary, Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. But I didn’t have travel charge to go to the seminary. Till the last hours of my journey I was crying before the living God for the privation of the money. Eventually, one thought came in my mind why don’t I sold old silver vessel and make money for the traveling then at last could do in the up sent   of my parents .Now also strongly faith in God Jesus he provide me source for my studies .

Mtendere Village No Comments »

Moni achemwali & achemwene,

Alley and I are settled in Malawi Africa now!  Still having trouble with internet but hope to be in touch as much as possible.  Please email us at this new email account for the next year.  Also, kindly take us off your “forwards” list!  The connection is VERY slow and forwards make it difficult to receive all our emails!

Andesen

(Andesen came to Mtendere fragile and malnourshed. Now he is healthy and driving!)

The Month of January was a lot of adjustments!  Alley celebrated her 9th b’day and started a new school!  Fortunately she is loving school here!  Driving is very DIFFERENT here!  Not only am I on the other side of the car, but the other side of the road.  I got 2 flat tires in one week!  I have learned where the pot holes are now!  We have had only one snake under our bed!

It is rainy season and pouring down!  We have been working on construction of the houses (only 12 more houses to complete), repairing broken windows, plumbing, roofing, and  working on getting electricity etc….

The kids are doing well.  We have had 5 kids with Malaria (out of 137).  There are many mosquitoes so keep the kids in your prayers.

One quick story:

You know how we have all sat back very full from a meal and still have loads of food on the table and someone says, “it’s a shame all this food is going to waste, some kid in Africa would be glad to eat our leftovers”. Well I saw this Malawian man at a hole-n-the wall restaurant eating chicken and rice.  When he was finished, he stretched his arm through the bars on the window and two skinny arms of a street child reached in and took his left overs.

It really made me stop in my tracks. I get to see our kids (all 137 of them) eat 3 meals a day, and I feel so satisfied, so blessed and excited, and I have forgotten about these street kids.  A lot of people shun them everyday.  Know one wants to “raise up a generation of beggars”, so we all just pass them by doing nothing. Of course we don’t want to hand out money to beggars, but what this man did was a simple way of helping God’s children.

Continue to pray for Mtendere Village, but also please pray for all the street children, I have forgotten to inform you of in the past!

God Bless you all,

Zikomo Quambiri,

Dana
